You'll learn exactly what tools you need (and what you don't) to build an efficient and effective toolkit. We’ll also cover the different types of stuffing and, most importantly, the safety standards to keep in mind, especially when creating toys for children.

The Core Stitches & Techniques
This module is your "bootcamp" for sewing. We'll move from theory to practice, focusing on the fundamental physical skills you need. We'll also cover decorative stitches for adding details. For machine sewers, we'll practice the essential skills of sewing smooth curves and sharp corners. Your First Project: Following a Pattern
This is the module where everything comes together! You've learned about your tools, fabrics, and core stitches; now it's time to create your very first plush toy from start to finish. We will provide you with a simple, beginner-friendly pattern. You'll learn the crucial skill of how to read and interpret that pattern, including understanding its markings and seam allowance. I will walk you through, step-by-step, how to trace, cut, and assemble the plush. You'll learn how to create, test, and refine your first "prototype" using scrap fabric, and how to troubleshoot common design problems. Finally, we'll briefly cover how to digitize your pattern to create a clean, shareable, and sellable product.

Building Your Plush Toy Brand
This module marks your shift from "designer" to "entrepreneur." A successful business isn't just about a great product; it's about a compelling brand. A brand is the "why" behind what you do—it's your story, your identity, and the promise you make to your customers. In this module, you'll learn how to define your brand's core identity, including its name, logo, and unique story. We'll identify your perfect target audience and then dive into the most important asset for selling online: product photography. Finally, we'll cover the logistics of selling in-person at markets and conventions, and a 101 guide to shipping and calculating postage.

You've built your brand, priced your product, and opened your shop. Now, how do you get people in the door? This module is your 101 guide to "DTC" (Direct-to-Consumer) marketing. We'll explore the power of social media, focusing on visual platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. You'll learn that your best marketing tool isn't a "sale," but your "Work-in-Progress" (WIP) content. We'll cover how to build a genuine community, engage with followers, and collaborate with other artists. Finally, we'll discuss the single most powerful tool for long-term success: building an email list to create a loyal, repeat-customer base, and the importance of superior customer service.

Legal, Financial, & Operational Foundations
Module Description: This is the "protecting your business" module. It covers the less-glamorous but absolutely essential topics that form the foundation of a real, long-lasting company. We'll dive into the critical legal topics of Copyright (protecting your designs) and Trademarks (protecting your brand), and the truth about selling "Fan Art." In this module, you’ll explore how to turn your craft into a lasting business by creating new income streams like digital patterns, DIY kits, and teaching. You’ll discover simple, practical ways to earn more, reach more people, and build a creative brand that thrives even when you’re not sewing.

Final Project: Launch Your Plush Toy “Mini-Business”
Project Goal: To synthesize and apply all the key skills learned throughout this course by creating one original plush product and launching it through a simulated "mini-business" setup.
