Introduction to Future Continuous Tense: Passive Voice

What is Future Continuous Tense?

Future Continuous Tense un actions ko show karta hai jo mustaqbil (future) mein kisi waqt ho rahi hongi.

Example:

  • He will be driving the car.
    (وہ گاڑی چلا رہا ہوگا۔)

Can Passive Voice Be Used in Future Continuous?

Normally, passive voice is not used in the Future Continuous tense, because it’s difficult to make passive structures with continuous actions in the future.

But in rare formal or literary contexts, the passive form can be seen. It’s grammatically correct but not commonly used in daily conversation.


2. Review of Future Continuous Tense: Active Voice

Structure:

Subject + will/shall + be + 1st form of verb + ing + object

Examples:

  • She will be writing a report.

  • They will be conducting the survey.

  • He will be painting the wall.


3. Structure of Future Continuous Tense: Passive Voice (Rare Usage)

Structure:

Object + will/shall + be + being + 3rd form of verb + (by + subject)

Examples:

  • A report will be being written by her.

  • The survey will be being conducted by them.

  • The wall will be being painted by him.


4. Identification: How to Recognize Future Continuous Passive Sentences

Urdu Sentence Clue (Rare & Formal Use):

جملے جن کا مفہوم ہو کہ “کچھ مستقبل میں کسی وقت کے دوران کیا جا رہا ہوگا”
مثال:

  • رپورٹ لکھی جا رہی ہوگی۔

  • دیوار پینٹ کی جا رہی ہوگی۔

5. Rules to Convert Active to Passive (Future Continuous Tense)

1 Identify Subject, Verb, Object She will be writing the letter.
2 Shift Object to Subject Place The letter…
3 Use will/shall + be + being The letter will be being…
4 Use the 3rd form of the verb The letter will be being written…
5 Add “by” + original subject (if needed) The letter will be being written by her.

6. Examples: Active to Passive Conversion

Active Voice Passive Voice
She will be writing a letter. A letter will be being written by her.
They will be repairing the road. The road will be being repaired by them.
He will be conducting the interview. The interview will be being conducted by him.
I will be cleaning the windows. The windows will be being cleaned by me.

7. Negative Sentences in Passive Voice (Rare)

Structure:

Object + will/shall + not + be + being + 3rd form + (by + subject)

Examples:

  • He will not be fixing the computer. → The computer will not be being fixed by him.

  • They will not be decorating the hall. → The hall will not be being decorated by them.


8. Interrogative Sentences in Passive Voice (Rare)

a. Yes/No Questions

Structure:
Will/Shall + object + be + being + 3rd form + (by + subject)?

Example:

  • Will she be writing the speech? → Will the speech be being written by her?

b. Wh-Questions

Structure:
Wh-word + will/shall + object + be + being + 3rd form + (by + subject)?

Example:

  • What will he be preparing? → What will be being prepared by him?

  • When will she be checking the forms? → When will the forms be being checked by her?
